Apple has replaced the iPad Air 2 with the new... simply called iPad. (I'm sure that will create some confusion in the market.) We have always thought that Apple products were a bit over-rated and too pricey for the inherent technology you actually get, but this iPad seems to be priced right and for what you get... is probably worth it.  Prices start at $329 for the base model with 32GB of Memory and WiFi.  Is it a product worth throwing out your old tablet for... Nope!  If you disagree... let us know below and rate it yourself :)

Pros

  • Most Affordable Apple tablet you can buy
  • 10 Hour Battery Life
  • Aluminium unibody
  • Touch ID fingerprint sensor on the front
  • Handles iOS 10 without any trouble or slowdowns - very smooth
  • Replaces the iPad Air 2

Cons

  • Display will probably wash out in direct sunlight, and will generally have duller, less vibrant colors.
  • A9 Chipset is not quite as powerful as the A9X chipset on the Pro
  • Slightly heavier than the iPad Pro but still much lighter than majority of tablets on the market
  • New display lacks anti-reflective coating
  • Cameras are good but not as good as the iPad Pro Cameras
  • A9’s runs at 1.85GHz vs the iPad Pro A9x chip running at 2.16-2.26GHz clock speed
  • Screen won't use the ambient light sensor to dynamically adjust the screen's white color balance to make text more readable
  • No microSD support

iPad 9.7″ Retina Display Review and Specifications

Apple has quietly retired the iPad Air 2, replacing it with a new 9.7-inch model called, simply, the “iPad.”  (Not iPad 6 or 7…  but iPad… just like their first one.  – I don’t even remember what generation they are on now*… and neither will the average tablet user.)  Regardless… despite setting themselves up for customer confusion in the near future…The new iPad is almost identical to the iPad Air 2 except the new “iPad” comes with an A9 processor.  *Its actually the 7th generation 🙂

From the Manufacturer:
“iPad features a beautifully bright Retina display with over 3.1 million pixels for stunning pictures and videos, and is enclosed in a sturdy yet thin aluminum unibody enclosure weighing just one pound for great portability and durability. The Apple-designed A9 chip with 64‑bit desktop-class architecture delivers fast processing and graphics performance for apps and games, while maintaining the same all-day battery life customers have come to expect from iPad.”
